Using the app
How does Majlis find events near me?
It shows events within 100 km of your location, sorted by day and then distance. Tap the location at the top of Home to use your current location or pick a city.
How do I book a spot?
Open an event and tap Book your spot. Your bookings are in the Bookings tab. To cancel, open the event and tap Cancel your booking. Your spot is given back.
Booking closes 1 hour before an event starts.
Why can’t I see an event any more?
It may have been cancelled, or it has finished. Cancelled events stay in your Bookings tab so you can see what happened.
How do I ask a scholar a question?
Open the scholar’s profile, go to Q&A, and tap Ask a question. Choose public if anyone can read the answer, or private if only you should see it. Your name is never shown with your question.
How do I turn notifications on or off?
Go to Account → Notifications and choose which kinds you want. Turning one off stops the push notification. It still appears in your in-app inbox.
Scholars and organisers
How do I become a scholar or organiser on Majlis?
Go to Account and tap Apply as a Scholar or Apply as an Organizer. A moderator reviews your application. Once approved, you can publish events and answer questions.
How do I add a scholar to my event?
As an organiser, invite the scholar first from the Scholars tab. Once they accept, you can list them on any of your events.

Report a problem
To report content or a user, use Report in the app. For anything else, including bugs, email support@majlis.community. Tell us what you were doing and, if you can, add a screenshot.
